Shazia Salam’s multi-disciplinary practice is motivated by a curiosity in the relationship between work and play and their performance under urban rhythms. Her work engages with corporate agreements, shop signages, children’s toys, and other instruments of movement and dissemination.

Her first solo exhibition, Voice-Over-Voice-, was held at Tashkeel, Dubai in 2023, following her participation in the Critical Practice Programme. She was also a recipient of the Dharti Arts Residency in Delhi (2019).

Recent commissioned projects include An Offer from the Desert by Kabir Mohanty for Public Art Abu Dhabi (2024), and Walking Memorials: Endeavours of Reading Silence, part of the Public Programming Commission at Jameel Art Centre, Dubai (2022).
